Fresh Air Barbecue has three dishes on their menu - chopped BBQ pork, brunswick stew, and slaw. You can get pork on a hamburger bun or they'll give you white bread if ordered as bbq plate. Saltine crakers come with the stew and potato chips are available. That's it - no chicken, ribs, beef, and certainly no fish flavored tater tots. It's funny to watch first-timers, especially non-southerners, look at the items on the board and then ask if they have beef or chicken.
Man, i'd like to come and meet some of you guys but gees it would be closer if you were in kentucky for me.
That's one of those "you had to be there" bad experiences we had at an Owensboro, KY restaurant. I did have my share of BBQ pork all that week. Ever since that trip, Susan adds cole slaw to our bbq sammiches - they just don't do that here in TX (that I'm aware of). 'Good stuff.
Straight down I-75 to GA 16. About 165 miles - 2.5 hours. Come on down.\ I'd like for next year's Fall Cruise & Show to be held in conjunction with Canton's last show of the year.
I actually prefer the Year One Cruise-in .... Their last show is in Novemeber and it has a Christmas Theme. Free entry if you bring a Gift and Santa road in last year in their 69 Camaro Pace Car Convertible ....
5: Merge onto I-85 S / GA-403 S. 15.2 miles 6: Take the I-285-BYP E exit- EXIT 95A- toward AUGUSTA / MACON. 0.7 miles 7: Merge onto I-285 S / GA-407 S via the exit on the LEFT toward AUGUSTA / MACON. 17.9 miles 8: Merge onto I-675 S via EXIT 52 toward MACON. 11.3 miles 9: I-675 S becomes I-75 S / GA-401 S. 21.6 miles 10: Take the GA-16 exit- EXIT 205- toward GRIFFIN / JACKSON. 0.2 miles 11: Turn LEFT onto GA-16. 8.8 miles 12: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto US-23 / GA-42 / MACON AVE. Another good venue and idea. I'd like for the Fall Cruise & Show to move around. We have guys in Vidalia, Columbus, Warm Springs, Augusta, etc. These events should give everyone a chance to at least come to every other show. We don't necessarily need to keep them all where the majority of Maverick population lives. Dan and Jamie - just add 30 minutes to the time it takes you to drive to my house.
Year One is probably about 45 minutes North of Atlanta ... It takes about 1 hour for me to get there from my house ...
If you're comeing through around the middle of the day, it isn't too bad. After about 4:30, hang it up...
are there going to be T-shirts or dash plaques????? I won't have a maverick unless I pull it up on the trailer and haul it around, better get to welding the front end together so I can cruise next year!!!!!!!!!!
No t-shirts or dash plaques. The only costs to this event is your gas, your meal, and car show entry fee.
