I did exactly that eight or so years ago. Ended up opting out of the surgery due to no money. Six months or so later and I was walking okay again. Doesn't bug me anymore, but I bet it will again down the road.
It's been "sticking and clicking" for over a decade now, but never was painful, so I mostly ignored it. The treadmill and leg presses seem to have finally torn it though. My high deductible is going to seriously break me if they have to scope it. `Bout how much would arthroscopic surgery run?
It is a very impressive burnout. It reminds me of The Fast & The Furious 3 when the muscle car was getting into the Viper A@#. Those for 4 bangers dont have a chance evan when the V8 is not working right unless they have a power adder.
Mind you this was a while ago, but I think they said it would be about $4000.00 and they wanted it up front because I had no insurance.
Crud! I'm not sure what to do. It ripped in July. The snapping and clicking is very annoying. Maybe I'll wait a bit longer to see if it improves. Thanks for chiming in.
Nice burnout... thats more action that my car has seen in a while also. I got her running this month and gonna put front brakes on it soon... Then I need 2 new ujoints, and run tranny lines and exhaust.... Then I'll have tho show you how to do a burnout in a Comet
I tore mine in highschool wrestling. I also let it heal on it's own. It does bother me from time to time but nothing major.
2-7k However if you talk to them before the surgery explain that money is tight, they will get you on a payment plan and also work with you on price. I have found most doctors will give you a hand if not find another doctor/hospital. I at one point in time had well over 100k in medical bills. They worked with me and ended up with only 20k. I had no insurance at the time and "stuff" happens. I payed it all off after 5 years. I have great medical now.
This sounds familiar... This past Saturday, I finally talked my goddaughter, Kristi, into trying to do a burnout. So I explained the procedure. You know, step on the brakes, rev the engine until the tires are smoking good, then ease off the brakes to roll out of it. The first time she immediately let off the gas when she heard the tires start to chirp. The second time she went for about 5 seconds and stopped. After a little coaching, she tried again. She did everything right and really got the tires spinning in 1st gear. After bouncing up against valve float for a while, she shifted to second and just kept going. She finally let off the brakes after the car completely disapeared in the cloud of smoke and left a really nice double srtipe for the length of the parking lot. When she stopped, she was choking on tire smoke and giggling like a crazy person. I have a feeling that the tires on that car won't last long. I guess maybe I shouldn't have taught her that. :evilsmile
