I am looking at some Maverick parts (listed on e-Bay) for sale in Detroit. The seller will not ship. I need to know if anyone would be willing to pick them up and ship them to me. Please drop me a PM if you might can help and I'll give you the details.
Hey Terry Not sure if you still need a local assist, but if so let me know. I am just outside Ann Arbor and can make a pickup arrangement if needed.
May not need the help. The guys latest pictures look worse than the first ones. His stuff may be as bad as mine.
What is it you were looking at/for. I just purchased a parts car for the fenders. Haven't even received it yet. 73 two door.
MAN!!! I hate to hear this...I literally took my big bumpers, and all parts attached, to a garbage dump because I couldn't give them away. Straight bumpers, nice chrome, not a ding in them. I put them in the attic (picture a husband-wife team trying to run 90 lb bumpers up those rickety fold down stairs ). Finally, after a couple years, I just tossed them to make space in the attic for OTHER Maverick parts I would have just given them to you if you paid the shipping... I try to keep everything off my cars in case someone wants something later on.
It took me a few years to find a good inner rear bumper for my 74, ended up getting one in Florida while on vacation, I have a few that the middles have some rust, but I'm sure they could be fixed, let me know if your interested..I should have rear bumper shocks also. Did you know that 74 bumpers are different from 75,76 & 77??
Yep. I believe a '74 bumper is what was on my '77 before I took it apart. The bumper is fairly decent. I have a good beam. The problem is that mounting pieces (with threads) on the inside have fallen out of their broken clamps. If I don't find a good beam, I'm just going cut mine in two, fix the mounting bars, weld it back up. I didn't want to go that much trouble.
74, which happens to be the year I have, seems to have been a transitional year. Different bumpers, much lower compression, that "elusive yellow box", and a couple of other things the the government felt was needed to keep us alive for 35 more years, so we could discuss the "elusive yellow box!"
