Does any one know if the taper on a late maverick spindle(disc brake) is the same as a pinto on the upper ball joint? I think I may have a easy fix for removing shock towers and keeping most of the stock front suspension.

I don't have an answer for your question, but I've always thought that there had to be a less expensive option to the MII swap. What are you thinking?

I think I may be able to remove the tower down to the frame rail keeping the lower control arm mount and engine mount area. Replacing the upper control arm with an aftermarket tube style arm that is shorter. then turn the control arm mounting shaft down and secure it to the top of the frame. Install a coil over shock style set up attaching to lower control arm and extending threw upper control arm to a mount off of frame rail.

Well I cant speek for every one, but this way will only cost me about $700.

I wish i could find a MII front with coil overs for that much.
