Okay, I decided that the Duplicolor Ford Blue was too light for this engine, so I repainted it with VHT's "New Ford Blue". It's dark, but more intense that the traditional dark Ford Blue. I left the oil pan light-blue, and I think it makes a nice contrast. I also painted the Performer intake... http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a205/Thirdgen/?action=view¤t=NewPnt.jpg (The Exhaust manifolds are also on now, but no pix yet. They turned out sweet.)
By the way, those are not my valve covers; Mine are in the shop being polished to a high luster. They are the "Ford Motorsport" units (now called 'Ford Racing')...
i like that blue oil pan looks fine with the engine color i cant say much my oil pan is darker than my engine block
I like the blue on the block, but I don't like various colors of blue on an engine. Makes it look like some part was replaced at a later date. I would paint the pan to match the block. Just my opinion....
Normally, I would agree with you on that, but you can't see the pan from looking under the hood, and you can't see much of the engine (other than the pan) from under the car. So in this case, I don't think it's really an issue...
man.. that is one nice a$$ looking engine.. i like it.. good job i paint the fins on the valve cover the same blue as the block and it would rock
I like the darker color alot better than the light. My motor is the dark color... 8 quart oil pan and all... except for for the front cover... in which Old Guy decided to paint some weird ass green/yellow color But I like it. Heres my pictures http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=16668
Wow Very nice, why doesnt mine look like that I used duplicolor ford blue, but it look darker than your oil pan? but then again i'm color blind
