I am going to be instaling Dual exhaust on the mave here soon instead of the dumps before the axle, so i need some pics fo your dual exaust routes over the axle, thanks guys
what size exaust are you guys running? also can i get some more pics of the front exaust where it mounts to the headers? what is the advantage of using a H pipe?
Scary thing is...I bet you Fan2488 did that all by himself, in the garage, with basic mechanics tools...Look at those smooth bends...DAYUM!!!
The advantage to using a properly tuned "H" or "X" pipe is that it broadens the torque and Hp curves. It adds a pulse to the harmonics that can scavange the exhaust from the cylinder (adds a low pressure (vacuum) signal as the exhaust valve closes which makes the intake charge enter faster which fills it more completely. more charge = more power!
A cool trick to find out were to put the H-pipe is to draw a line with a crayon...were it stops melting is were it goes. I'm also going to route the exhaust like derrick except mine will go all the way back..like old camaros.
Most small blocks do fine on 2 1/2" tubes. If you try to put 3" tubes on the Maverick you may have some difficulty getting by the fuel tank on the left (driver's) side.
