73 comet 302 swap

    i am picking up a 73 comet with the 200 in line six. eventually i want to do a 302 swap into it. Will there be any special bell housing needed like on a mustang 2 or will a regular c4 fit in place

    The 200 and 302 have different bell housing patterns so you will need a 302. The 250 is the same as the 302.

    You will need a 302 bell housing which will bolt right on your C4 in place of the 200 bell housing. In fact, I will trade you a 302 bell housing for your 200 bell housing. I have several 250/302 bell housings laying around not doing anything, and a 200 6 cylinder laying around that I can't do anything with because I don't have a bell housing for it. :)

    bell housing

    i haven't picked up the car yet so it is not in my possesion. When i do i will let you know. Also the 302 swap would not be for a little while due to the fact that i have to build the motor first. The 200 has a c4 behind it? thats good to know.

    1973 Ford Maverick Grabber ginger & white factory 302 c-4 car LDO package
    tranny bell housing are different frame mounts engine mounts springs brakes steering tires lug counts etc. lotta work to convert and stock drum brakes suck in the front..
