my book calls for damper or pulley torque to be 70-90 ft. lbs. does this mean that the damper is 70-90 and the 4 bolts on the pulley are 70-90 also. that sounded like a lot. thanks... frank...

Just the large bolt in the center is 70 - 90 lb/ft. You'd snap the smaller bolts trying to torque them to that level.

crankshaft pulley bolts are 40-50pounds on a 302

Respectfully I disagree with 40 to 50 ft lbs torque on the Crankshaft pully for a Ford 302 engine. 7o to 80 ft lbs torque is correct. There must be some misunderstanding here. And I am talking about the large bolt.

The large bolt in the center secures the damper to the crankshaft, 70 - 90 ft lbs. The four smaller bolts secure the pulley to the damper, 40 - 50 ft lbs.
