drive mine every chance I get on the street the better handling alone makes it worth the effort I don't use a sway bar as this is mainly a street strip car it has kyb's in the front, stock springs (73 grabber v-8 rate unknown but it took 2 spring compressors to get them off) I have had 0 issues with urethane and it should last a good long time. also if you want something made in urethane send a sample to energy they can make it for you.
We have had both rebuilt stock and currently have Mustang II. I will be honest the rebuilt stock drove better than the mustang II. The M2 is from Rods & Customs it has tubular A arms, power rack, and 2" drop spindals. I have just read some suspension stuff and have lowered the tie rod end that should help. The rebuilt stock had the perfect amount of feel and that may be becuase we have pretty wide front tires 245/40-17s. We rebuilt the power ram, rebuilt the control valve, replace the lower control arm (rubber) replaced the upper control arm bushings, replaced the inner and outter tie rods, replaced the drag link, and replaced the spring purch. I'm not sure how much we had in the rebuilt stock but the M2 was around $2500
i have to disagree with T.L. . i rebuilt my front end with the poly graphite kit from P.S.T. and it rides great with no noises i am using the KYB shocks front and rear also. i do agree that 1 to 1 1/2 coils should come off the front spring to lower the front end where it looks even instead of nose high. good luck
I used the same kit, Also replaced all the power controls with NEW pieces. Car drives wonderful, No noise and or squeeks. I would like to replace the strut rods with adjustable rods so i could get a little more adjustment. ( could possibly make it drive better). As far as the springs i didnt cut any off and after about 6 mounts the front end settled back to stock ride height
The strut rods already are adjustable. How much more adjustment do you need. All they do is control caster...
having fun Love those mountain roads. Just like road racing. That being said, 1 1/8" sway bar up front, 3/4" in the rear. Stronger 4dr leafs in the back, V-8 A/c set in the front. Unless you've already changed the springs, they're old and weak. Build yourself a set of subframe connectors. Do the Shelby front upper A-arms relocation. It works on Mavericks to. get a set of front disc brakes. Personally I like manual brakes and manual steering. Gives you better feel for the road and if the engine dies it has no effect on the steering or brakes, big safety issue there. Rims 14x7 with about 3 3/4-4" neg offset. replace all your wheel studs with ARP, Milidon or Moroso grade 8 studs, safety again. Tires, depends on the weather, Mt. Shasta area allow for that snow. Shocks good set of heavy duty gas ones.
