Put in my Trac-loc pumkin today; geez it was heavy!! Question; with the vehicle still up on stands and the drive shaft in place, why am I still able to turn the shaft & differential when the trans is in gear? Could it be the driveshaft is not all the way in? I'm done for the day; won't be able to get back at it until Wed. Happy New Year and many more happy
does the driveshaft spin also ? or just the axles ? I have a spool but the one trac lock I had would not spin with the tranny locked in gear/park unless you bounced the tire back and forth fairly hard and unlocked the clutches
I would say that you DO NOT have the car in PARK. If it is in a drive select gear the drive shaft can be turned. Ken
Didn't know that; what I'll try is unhooking my B&M cable, place the trans in park and try to turn the drive shaft. If it doesn't move, I'll know it was a cable adjustment problem. Got all fluids in it and am gonna wait till next week to start it. Hopefully no problems will erupt
yeah if it's in park and the driveshaft turns you have problems the driveshaft will never move in park/or in gear with a manual tranny if it's in neutral/out of park the shaft will spin but you can lift a car with a locker/trac lock off the ground and bounce the tire back and forth and unlock the clutches..
I assume a C-4? I see B&M cable and again assume you have a B&M shifter. Make sure you follow directions to the T on cable adjust! C-4's are sensitive to adjustment and when in gear shifting fork must be in middle of detent (no pressure either way from shifter)
Yup, cable adjustment problem. Unhooked the cable, placed the trans in park and driveshaft didn't turn. Will be rectifying once I'm sober after tonight. Thanks All.
A/T Cable Adjustment Can't seem to find my little booklet; anybody have the cable adjustment procedures for a B&M Z-gate shifter? Also checked on the internet, no help. Thanx
