Is there a good subframe connector set available for these cars or does everyone just have them custom-made?...

T.L.; contact Dan Starnes, on the forum here. I bought his connectors, and they are supberb. They make the car handle much better, and the traction is MUCH better than before. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm hoping to get some that don't hang down real low. How close to the ground are yours?...

You can't see them unless you look real close. They clear the headers and all the e-brake lines, and are not in the way when working under the car.

Thanks for the nice comment Earl. Sorry T.L. I dont have anymore subframe connectors. It really was just a thing of need for me to kind of reinvent the poor quality subframe connector I bought (the brand shall go nameless). There is a slight chance I will build another set for my car as I have to cut the ones off mine right now to install the caltracs. This wont be till this winter and it wont be any harder to make 2 sets than one. Only reason I am not making anymore is I have to rent the time on the tubing bender and it only makes sense to make about 12 at a time. Thought we pretty well had the market saturated here on the board with people who needed them. Guess this Maverick/Comet thing is just getting some real steam blowing with all the interest in the cars lately.

Rudy Bidlack (sp) also makes some subframe connectors, that stay fairly close to the frame rails, and also bolt to the seat cross-brace. They are made from rectangular tubing, I can't remember the specific measurements. I don't know if I have his email anywhere or if he posts on here, but I'll try to find it. Come to think of it, I believe it's on the instructions that came with them.

Ok, they're made from 1x2" rectangular tubing, which is what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. I believe I paid $75 for them. I don't have an email address for Rudy, but if you want his phone#, let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Thanks to everyone for all the replies.

Dan, I have no problem waiting until winter, if you'd be interested in making a pair, assuming the price is reasonable.

Maverick-Matt, I would certainly be interested in that information, just in case I cannot get a set from Dan.

If you build some I wouldn't mind a set. What kind of cost are we talking about? Those look GREAT! A lot better then the last set I looked at. I didn't buy the other ones I was looking at because they looked just plain flimsy those look stronger then the rest of the car.
