i am restoring a 1976 maverick 2 door and am wanting to do a I-6 to a 302 or a 289 engine swap and would like to know if there are any parts from other cars that will interchange. also does anyone know if the grabber hoods from U.S. body source good quality.

A search on all of that information would heed many threads about the information you seek!

The frame mounts are specific to Maverick & Comets only. Engines are pretty much the same through all the years and models.

i don't have the grabber hood from usbody, but i do have their aero scoop hood and i'm really happy with it. like any fiberglass parts though you may have to do some fitting. another thing that may NOT fit is the headers. most headers have to be specific for a maverick, and most say not for use with column shifter or p/s. there is a drop bracket for the p/s.:)

I've used front springs out of a 70 Mustang.

Engine mounts are unique, but available at parts stores for cheap.
Frame stands, below the engine mounts are swapable with 66-70 Stangs and a few other V8 cars of the period.
Very early frame stands and engine mounts were a matched combo on Fords and can be used as well, but they are about as hard to find as Maverick frame stands. SBFs up to mid-65 used these iron stands and matched mounts on just about every SBF equipped car.
You can continue to use the 6 cylinder throttle cable. It is just a little longer than the V8 part is all.
If you have the 250, you can use all the tranny parts and such.
You should probably change the radiator. The I6 part uses smaller hoses.

    Good luck
    Dave
