looking to run weld or centerline rims 4in x 15in 165r on the front but not shure about the back will a 275 50 15 with a 8in rim fit??? or a 265 50 15 8in rim and what offset some pic of cars will help thanks tim
i like that look on the tires and rims would the 255 60 15 look about the same as those? oh andi bought Us Wheels rims for the back of my car 15x8 4x4.5 with a 3.75 back space
If you drive the car much at all, you will regret that combo. Too thin... I ran them for a while. The ride is rough, braking weak, and steering bad. FWIW... Dave
My Opinion... Drag: 15x10, 4.5BS rear w/ 26x10 or 28x9 slicks, 15x3.5 front Street: 15x8, 4.5BS rear w/ 255/60/15, 15x5 front w/ 185/65/15. A stiff rear suspension is needed plus rolled fenders.
ok.. i bought 15X8 rims with 3.75 back spacing.. and i wanted to run 2556015.. will 2356015 be better.. or the 2556015? i want whatever will fit and work the best
stmanser, I had 15x8.5 centerlines w/ 3.5 BS with the 235/60/15 and they got cut up on the fender lip. I rolled that and it was no problem. With the 3.75" BS the tire will stick out less so the 255 would probably work. If you have the back end up high it also helps. Also, check the archives, there's tons of info on tire size in there...but you probably already did that. I edited my other post too cause 255's are probably best, sorry about that.
i was running 16 x 8 with a 4inch back space and 255 x50x 16 mickey thompson et streets had to trim the bump stop a little ....
i'm running 275/60/15 on the rear of my car. 4 1/2" backspacing. the only mod i had to do was to roll the fender lip
Ok...I'm looking at the American Racing Torq-Thrust original wheels. Style 309 on their web site. http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?wheelid=135&name=Torq-Thrust%20Original&style=309&desc=1-piece%20painted/machined%20alloy§ion=V Rear: #309-58565 - 15x8.5" - 3 3/4" BS - 5/4 1/2 bc. Tires: M/T ET Street Radial - #3752R - P235/60R15 (no, it won't see much street duty with those tires) Front: 309-5565 - 15x5 - 2 1/2" bs - 5/4 1/2 bc Tires: ? Radials - 185/65R15 I am planning on narrowing the rear end 1" per side to get the tires tucked under the car. Anyone who has run this combination see any problems with this plan?
Here's mine with the 15x8.5 w/ 3.5"BS and the 235/60/15 BFG Drag Radials... I had to roll the fender lip. 1" shortened rear end may be a little too much, but maybe it would work??? If you have access to one of those tire sizer tools, you could try that.
