    Being Painted

I got my '71 Comet 4-door five years ago - the body and interior are in great shape; I've done the brakes, the suspension and had a new radiator, heater coil and pinion bearing put in. I had the engine rebuilt last year. This is the first car I've had that ended up with a name... "Squeaky" - but now she no longer squeaks.

She's in the shop now for a little body work and paint - they're taking all the trim and door handles, etc. off - I can hardly wait, she'll be awesome (actually she was awesome the day I bought her from a young couple who drove her out to San Francisco from New Orleans and got married in Las Vegas on the way - I live in El Cerrito, CA)

Happy to be part of the Maverick/Comet clan.
