Yup,, looks bout ready for paint Dave,, post pics when painted too please. I lika shiny paint lots!!!! Dan
I haven't decided on color yet. Probably some shade of blue and I'm leaning toward a deep pearl darker blue. I still need to block one side and finish up the lips & body lines then it should be ready. The hard side is done...the passenger side was a little harder to block than the driver's side as the door was smashed in pretty badly and I had to fix it. Fender on that side was the same way and I could not find a fender or door anywhere in the local area so I just used what I had. It won't be perfect, but it'll do for a race car that's going to get beat up anyway. I already like the looks of the car without the door handles. Really smooths the look of the body. The car should look pretty slick with the blue I'm thinking of, combined with a satin black hood and the satin spoiler that is not in the picture. I looks fast just sitting still with the spoiler bolted on. The wheel covers are plastic. Didn't want any paint on those wheels. Its too much of a pain to get overspray off of polished aluminum!
OH YEAH...now your cookin.......it's amazing how much battle damage can accrue on a car after just a couple of seasons of campaigning...the bumps and bruises really add up...mine will be past due for the same after this year. Make it "pretty" Todd...
color personally a pewter or silver/gray color. Semi black hood and back of car. What color is the internor?
Removed the handles and lock assy, then welded up the holes. Some final bondo work and that's it. Being this is strictly a race car, the interior is gutted and the door panels are aluminum. There is a small lever at the top front of the door panel frame, that operates the latch mechanism from inside. All the windows are plexiglas, so he cut a half moon slot in each door and attached another small aluminum lever to the existing one inside. It sticks out of the plexiglas about an 1 1/2. Works very nicely, can't see it for the masking paper.
