OK, I'm tired of working on my junky carburetors...lol! I want a new one. Here's our combination. 302 + .030" Stock '68 model heads Flat top pistons CC 268H Camshaft Pro-Products Criss Wind dual plane (air gap) DSII ignition 1800 converter 2.79:1 gears This will be my son's daily driver and will make the ocassional trip to the drag strip. What do you guys run and what do you recommend. I want some input before I plunk down my cash, but I am buying something today! brad
You didn't say whether it is an automatic or manual trans. Since it is more a daily driver I would say 600 Vacuum Seconday Holley if it is an auto and you want the kickdown features make sure the Carb throttle lever is setup for the Ford kickdown.
Nevermind!!!! It's amazing how my carburetor buiding abilites suddenly improved when I found that vacuum leak at the modulator valve! brad
Hey how is everything up in Rossville? Is Race Engine Design still operating up there? I know they used to build some pretty mean dirt track engines back when I was racing. brad
that is almost the same as my setup.. you have a little more cam than i do, and i am bored .040 and i have a 2500 stall... my car runs 14.2 at 96.. let us know how it runs when you take it to the track and as far as the carb goes, my edelbrock 600 works fine just have to play with the jets and rods, and after playing i found that it likes to run a little on the lean side, and i put purple springs in it..
OK, once we get to the track. I will let you know. I doubt we can match those times though. I'm sure our car is heavier with complete LDO interior and the boy's 'Thumpin' stereo system. Eventually we plan to add a lil' more gear to it and some better heads. Myba E7's. brad
