A quick question for the Mav Ghurus. My 75 Grabber gets new rubber today. Should I keep the original tires that it came with for the next owner (when the time comes)? The Grabber has 19k original miles....everything is original and I was just wondering if I should keep everything that I replace. Thanks for your opinions. Craig

I would. They're 32 years old, so I'd be leary of them anyway and might be cool for the next owner to have them. On a low mileage car like that I'd keep all the original parts if there's any chance you'll be selling it, unless you're going to completely cut the car up for a drag car, etc.

I would get new wheels too, and leave the original mounted on the stock wheels.

I'll play the Devil's Advocate on this one......drop the old tires off at the tire dealer and make sure to say thank you and shake the tire technicians hand when he tosses them into the dumpster. Good riddance. Like said, they are 32 years old. What do you do with 32 year old tires besides the dumpster?

If you want to keep old looking tires - go to http://cokertire.com/ and order brand new old tires. If the originals are Firestones of Goodyears, chances are they have the original molds.

Oh, if you decide to keep the original wheels and tires, make sure not to let the original air out of the tires, it makes them more valuable. HaHa. Just kidding.

They are probably dry-rotted. In any case, original Maverick tires are anything but cool. I'd chuck 'em and never look back...

I'm in the SW corner of Utah.....St George. About 1 1/2 hour drive to Las Vegas. Just close enough for a nice drive....far enough to stay out of trouble. Moved here almost 6 years ago from Chicago suburbs. Don't miss the midwest weather at all.
Thanks for all the opinions everyone. Craig
