ummm,.......add race stickers and a fart can exhaust? ought to be good for another 10-200 horse depending on the stickers:biglaugh:

ok,... I see your working on getting more air in,but didnt see about getting it out as well. whats your exhaust? headers will help somewhat,as will a good free flowing dual exhaust. gear change will make it quicker, for cheap horse power a plate nitrous kit?..... bigger cam?... how much more do you want if your only playing around and plan to sell the car soon?

kinda like they say,......how fast do you wanna go? just takes $...

    Re: Suggestions?

Don't spend a penny on it. Leave it alone and put the go-fast money towards your next purchase (assuming you're going to want to pep it up also).

You'd be better off financially to buy a small nitrous kit like a Powershot than spring for #'s 1 & 3. You may be able to find a used kit for a reasonable price and you can always take it off the car and sell it separately when you are finished with it.

i can get a 4 bbl with intake fairly cheap, i know a bunch of people who have some parts and the heads i can get off an early 90's V8 explorer. they had Gt 40 heads

I wouldn't even bother with the GT40 heads and the cheap intake/carb setup unless you get them for free (or close to it). A brand new Powershot kit is less than $400 (I am sure you could find a used kit for much less if you look hard enough) and will provide much more of a power increase than those heads & intake. Also, your fuel economy will not suffer when you are not using the bottle (which would be 99+% of the time). Very few things adversely affect fuel economy more than a 4 bbl carburetor.

I could get a top shot, but my dad would have my @$$ if i stacked my car because i was hotrodding and hitting that NOS button
and knowing me i would have enough N2 to do somthing stupid at anygiven time.

    Nos is not the answer

But your Dad would be less upset if you wrecked/damaged your car while hotrodding after installing heads, intake/4bbl and headers?

Sounds like he is not too keen on you enhancing the power of your car. It may not be a bad idea to leave the car as it is.

That's the dumbest suggestion here. The guy has a 2-barrel carb and you tell him that his best bet is "nitrous".

My bone stock 302 ran that same time at 6000 feet with a 4-barrel.

A 4-barrel, good exhaust system, and decent gears would wake it up nicely. Hooking up is important too. I wonder how much tire spin he had with street tires (or was he running slicks)?

Nitrous could damage his engine as well (and that's not a money saver). Based on his description of what he has, I doubt it is race-built...

Go for the GT40 heads if you can get them cheap. Don't go over $300 for the pair if fully assembled and ready to install.

These will open up your in AND out airflow. Won't do squat without an intake and 4 bbl. I like single plane, but I think my setup is a fluke, since everyone told me it wouldn't work right. Get 20 mpg on the highway (or 1 mpg on the track:D )

Then you will have a quicker (still won't be "fast") car with reliable and full-time power at hand.
