well i want to increase the engine from the scant 8.x:1 to something a little higher, 9.x:1 around there, anyways to do this other than replacing the cylinder head...

Either switch out the pistons or mill the cylinder head you have until you reach the chamber size that yields the compression ration you want.

You can run 2.3 tempo pistons , since they are flat top pistons they should bump up you`r cr a little . 255 V8 pistons are a great way to bump up compression in a 250 but they might be too tall for a 200 I don`t remeber for sure . The easest way to increase you`r compression is prolly going to be to just have you`r head milled.

where can i find some pistons...can i do a combination of pistons/milling to the head? or is it one or the other, if so which would be the cheapest...and i'm leaning toward the pistons because i dont really like the idea of having the head milled...if they take off too much i'm screwed...but i can find someone who has used a piston to increase compression ratio and get there results...posting a poll now...lol

You can get a set of pistons from the parts store . The cheapest and easyest way (imho) is going to be to just have you`r head milled . I don`t know how much you will need to mill it but some one here should know or ask to guys over at www.fordsix.com .

Stroke the crank 1/8 inch, machine off the tops of the pistons .0645. it will be a pretty stout little motor. Probably get it built for around a grand. Lots more power!!! Build a good bottom end and modify the inductions system to match. JMHO ChadS
