    Re: Key West

I have to ask you this....what is a cool place in Ocala?? It's horse county! And no offense meant on this one, but there aren't that many younger people here, so it's not like there are all that many hang-out spots, either...well, unless you count the idiots in the imports that hang out in parking lots on the weekends... :smash: The only places I can think of to take "cool" shots would be in front of Silver Springs or someplace in the forest, but you have to admit...the themepark shots are getting a little overdone. Too tourist-ish if you ask me... If you can come up with some ideas for a Slo-cala shot, lemme know.

You know what, scratch that. I came up with a place. I don't live too far from Cross Creek, Majorie Kinnan Rawlings (sp?), the author of The Yearling. It's a ways out in the forest, but it's nice and I don't think they would have a problem with photos being taken. Especially since they could use some publicity.

Ya know, I hadn't even thought of that. If the idea for multiple shots is still up for discussion, why not do a shot in front of each place? One to sort of catch the essence of the Ocala area, and another just for fun? Might be worth the travel time... (y)

Last year when I went down to the NPD show I passed that museum early saturday morning. I had no idea that is where it is. This year I will make time to get there. I have his autographed picture that I got back in the 60's.

    Very cool......

His museum is awesome. I kept looking at each car and going, I remember that!
It has just about every famous drag car ever in it and he also has all of his cars that he has owned. You could spend a day in there.

You're right, Dennis. I figured I would hand the camera across the driveway to Lauralea and she can hand the camera to Darryl at the end of the driveway. Then we could all reposition by another Maverick and do it all again! ;)

Think of the gas savings!! :D

(There are other Mavericks owners in Austin that could participate, too).
