Well i was in my car and i have smelt a strange smell jus thinknig a skunk had died some where near my house but after a while it just lingered around in my car. So i smelt around and pulled up my carpet it was all moldy, and all my driver and pasenger side in rusty with little holes. So i checked my Cowls and it wasnt them. so what else could it be? It cant be a chick magnet with it smelling like a skunk.

    (y) good idea...

have someone run some water on the windshield (all the way around) while you are under the dash. :yup:

WEll I spayed with the hose the Cowls and the wind shield, plus its been raining all day and there was no moister. But when i sprayed the doors water got all over my seats. So since i took out the carpet there has been no water on the floor by the passenger or driver side?

Do you think that much rust could come from just the door. How much do thess gaskets cost?

The rust comes from the water, not the doors. I have two doors, and no rust...:p

The door seals are not cheap, but MUCH less expensive than new floors.

My wife's 2000 Bonneville is currently in the shop for the same issue. And you are correct. Not Cheap. So far, costs more than my Maverick and they still haven't found the leak, just spent $600 taking out the seats, carpet, and center console...:biglaugh: (wait...wrong smiley).

No, it is the correct smiley, because i have contacted the Carmax central office and got them involved, and they are making the local carmax pay for the repairs, even though the local Pontiac dealer is doing it!!! The greasy wheel gets the squeek, or something like that:hmmm:

a small amount of water trapped in your carpet, keeping the carpet wet will rust the metal floor boards. reason.. water along with salts in it will rust the metal especially if the water doesnt evaporate or drain away.

check your drain holes in the floor boards under your feet area under the carpet and make sure they are not clogged up.. if they are take a screw driver and make sure the hole is not obstructed.

WEll i found where the leak on my driver side is from, it was leaking into the speaker hole, the water was coming from the wind shield. I have the same problem on the passenger but not as much as the drivers side, but i cant find where its leaking from? well I found a windshield in a junkyard that was in great condition. and my Step dads father use to be in the Car bussines and i could get one of his friends to put the new one in pretty cheap. How much does this usually cost?

there are a couple drain holes under the windshield on the outside. they are about 1" long and about 1/8" raised... they drain into the cowl, and if your cowl vents are rusted, it will leak inside.. i had to take black RTV and seal the entire front bottom egde of my windsheild to stop from having the rain come inside..

my cowl is fiberglassed over, and i need to fix a few areas, but it is the easiest way to seal off the cowl and keep it from leaking. Otherwise, you will need to do a complete tear down of the cowl to fix the vents inside

Well i sealed my windshield and the cowls arent leaking. So my passeger side stoped leaking, but still my driver side is, its coming through where the speaker is on the side. Is there any other way it could come in. I might re-seal the window, I dont know if we put enough on.
