Will the tranny in my 73 comet work in a 75 maverick if I drop my 302 in it? My first instinct is yes...and I right?

I got a lead on a 75 mav for 300 bucks. You guys and your mavs....making me want one. Should I get me a mav, I am going to make a hot rod out of it and just toy with the comet.

I am pretty sure the C4 will fit all the 302s and 250s in any year model maverick or comet. Might be an adapter plate change between the 250 and 302, or maybe it is on the smaller I6...:hmmm:

hopefully the guy gives me a picture soon, I'd hate to run all the way to Austin to find another rotten floor.

he said there was a new front end and rear end in it, extra windhseild and hood. I think that alone is worth the 300 bucks he's askin.

Buddy in the 'hood has a 1970 in pretty good shape want's $500 (don't hold me to that price). It has some fixable body damage, and I don't think it is too rusty, except for the hood lip. I could hook you up with him, maybe get some pictures to you if you are interested.

I personally wouldn't fix it up, but would scavenge the parts and sell them for close to $1000, and junk the rest for the $50 or so I could get from a yard.

Small bumpers, valences, windows, chrome trim, etc.

But it IS a fixable car, if you wanted to go that way.

Here lately I have been thinking of buying cheapo's and selling off parts to help supplement my "building" phase.

I'd be interested in some pics and how "firm" the 500 is.

    Thanks.
