Hi Everyone, I have a 69 Maverick 2 dr that I've had for 16 years. The dome light has never worked. Today I took off the lens cover and cover holder and then removed the light socket from the inside of the roof and discovered that the wire was only about a foot long and not connected. So then I traced the other end from the door and light switch to find that is about 3 feet long and not connected. My problem is I need to run a wire from under the dash to the dome light. I was wondering if anyone knows how this wire is routed. I assumed it goes under the door sill plate, up beyond the door, and over between the roof and headliner. I was hoping to run this wire without removing the headliner. Has anyone done this? Thanks to all.
do you really have a ch3vy powered mav? not that I approve of that type of behavior but i would still like to see some pics.
Thanks everyone it looks like a need to remove the headliner to get it through the left A pillar. I don't have many pic now but I'll post some as soon st the Ohio weather gets better.
No need to remove the headliner. Try "fishing" the wire thru there...or use a wire puller (whatever that is called).
Thanks Craig, I have a fish tape, but I'm not sure if it will fit through the A pillar. I'll give it a try.
Hi people, I couldn't get the fish tape through the A pillar so I hooked 2 brazing rod together and got that through, pulled a new wire, hooked it up, and now it works. Thanks to all!!!
