A couple of questions for you Maverick-ites--- I had two of them back in the 80's when they were totally uncool. A drunk driver totaled one, and the other I sold. I am in the market again.
Now to my questions. How many miles can you reasonably put on the 6 cyl 250 engine and the 8 cyl engine? Anyone know about gas mileage? ANd why are 2 doors so much more expensive than 4 doors? Coolness factor? Thanks to all. PS Any idea on value of 75 Mav 4-dr with 35 k and good interior, vinyl top, 8 cyl engine? Thanks

welcome to the board. 2 drs are more desirable to most, therefor they are harder to come by. har to tell w/o pics. is there any rust? sounds like a pretty good car and i would say anywhere from $2000-$3000 as described. :Welcome:p.s. anyone of those engines with the proper care will last a long time. probably into the 100s of thousand.

Last year I drove my V8 Maverick to the Roundup in Kentucky and it got better fuel mileage than my '04 mini van.

Here I thought the car had some rust. Let me tell you that most of the Mav/Comets out there have much more rust and in worse places than the one you are looking at has. Looks to me that there is nothing there that cannot be easy to fix. The only thing is to pay attention and do it right the first time so you will have a great car for a long time. Welcome to the board and good luck with the car.
