So, Craig, you taking responsibility for snagging his item???:D

I hate ebay for that reason, you bid for a few days, while someone sits to the side and waits for the last minute and outbids you.

That is the way the game is played...

As long as you know how the GAME is played.....then you know how to WIN.

    YUP:yup:

I have been playing that way lately for the items I really need. If it is something I just "want" I just bid and watch.

To play with the big boys on ebay, I got a sniper (like they have). I set my maximum amount I'm willing to pay, sit back and let the chips fall where they may.

"I'm not going to pay a lot for this muffler!"

That is how I bid on Ebay. If I see something I might want. I Figure out how much I am willing to pay for it. Enter that as my max bid and never think about it again. If I get an email telling me I have been out bid, fine it was worth more to someone else then I wanted it for. If I get an email telling me I won the item then I go pay for it and wait for it show up.

Ebay can be a great resource but I just do not get that excited about watching items to see if I "won". I either get it for "my price" or I don't. Maybe I miss the point of Ebay or something. I never felt like I "lost" anything if I was out bid. Some else just wanted it more then I did and was willing to pay more for it then I was. No big deal.

I'm sure that might change when I need that last part to finish my Grabber. But at this point in the resto process. Whatever I get is fine.

    Happy bidding...

Sometimes a part comes up that requires a little more "strategy" because I might REALLY NEED it...

Otherwise, put up my max, and walk away.

I understand your stratemagizing, but not everyone thinks the way you do. They will get caught up in the "I must win" mode and outbid you at the last minute when they see your early bid.

If you have the sniper, they have no idea of how much to increase their bid by in order to outbid you - by then, it's too late - you've sniped their buttocks in the last 2 seconds.

<-- been sniped more than once and don't like it either. :16suspect

But.... well, you get what I'm preaching ('sorry if I come across that way). Good luck in all your bidding.
