Not trying to hijack here but I saw a 1972 Sprint in the boneyard today. It had the 200 straight six. The engine turned over by hand and had good compression too. The seats with the blue inserts bordered by the red piping. It had the seat belt light in the dash. To try and verify, I scraped through about 15 layers of paint and came up with the same paint scheme as the one in this thread. I also took the VIN tag and the body tag from it was laying on the ground with a corner of it still screwed to the body. So, for the registry, here goes: VIN: 2X91T218498 Body tag: 0436 25 MV62A 29 (The 29 part was still on the car) T218498 RMLR 16 9A WHT SPR WHT On the 3rd line (where the Huh smiley is ) in front of the RMLR there was what looked like a number 3 stamped completely through the plate followed by a space and then it had a dash mark or a number 1 stamped completely through. These numbers were "laying" down sideways on the plate, if that makes sense? When I compare it to MapleMavs Sprint body tag which is here: http://www.mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=18092&d=1161122580 it appears that it may be a Canadian Sprint at that! The tags are nearly identical. The drums on the car had the word Canada on them. Oh, and I got the front rock guard, the radiator and the boomerangs and will see in the next couple of days what condition they are in. I do believe there was a small pit in there that I could see. Either way they are in better shape than the ones I have now.
The X makes it a Sprint built in Canada (Saint Thomas), but not necessarily a Canadian Sprint. Mine was built at Saint Thomas too. Thanks for the info. What junk yard was it in? I graduated high school in Va Beach so I am familiar with a lot of junk yards in the Norfolk area. At least the ones that were around in the late 60's early 70's.
