After selling my stock '71 Comet GT in 2004 that had been my daily driver for over 15 years, I just found the Maverick / Comet forum and have caught the bug again. Some of the cars posted are quite an inspiration for the Maverick / Comet lover. I was first infected back in 1971 when I saw Dyno Don in his red 427 cammer Maverick Pro Stock at Freemont Drag Strip. He was low qualifier at 9.22 seconds, but did not win. After seeing that machine life has never been the same. I'll have to pick up a project Maverick soon so I can get back in the game. I also did the 351C Maverick four speed along the way. That car eventually got a 289 to make it more user friendly for wrench turning. Regards - all... Dave
