I recently go the engine running after the small problem with it not turning over at all. There is a new problem however, with the back wheels up off the ground, and the engine running, while running through the gears the wheels will turn. However, when I put it on the ground, the engine will rev, but the wheels will not turn whatsoever... Where should I start with troubleshooting?
    Thanks
    Guys

Thanks, Figured it was the tranny, I guess I didn't phrase my question correctly... Where on my tranny, or what in my tranny would cause this to happen? what can I do to fix it? where should I look on the tranny???
    Thanks again

you need to put more tranny fluid in.. once you get it full, it will work.. unless the tranny is completely shot.. but you wont know until its full..

if it was completely empty.. they take on average 8-10 qts to fill them up including the torque convertor.

also.. did you make sure that the convertor went all the way onto the input shaft.. it should make three thuds..

if you arent suer.. DONT drive it.. until you get it right.. trust me.. i blew up a tranny the first time i did a motor, because nobody told me about that very critical step

The FMX is pretty straight forward tranny. fill it in park with the engine running. The band adjustment that they used to have required a spacer. It has been a while since I have done one but I still have the guage blocks for adjusting the bands. You might be surprised at how much ATF it will take to fill an FXM - they take a bit more than the C4.

Thanks guys, I'll make sure to put more fluid in, and as for the torque converter i made sure it "thuded back" as you guys say. I had read of horror stories on here and wanted to be completely sure that the tranny wouldn't do that.
