Took the Mav to the track today. Who ever it was that said it would run 10's in the 1/8 was right! Finally did manage a 9.97 @75.5. My son and I took turns driving. We had a great time but the lack of traction was frustrating. brad
Yes! That's the plan, just gotta scrape together some money for a locker and in goes the 9 inch and some sticky tires. Its tough running a street radial when you're 'peg-legged!" Launching was touch and go as it would spin that one tire all the way through first and part of second if you just matted it. Not having a tach made it tough to find shift points and be consistent. Still it was the most fun I've had for 30 bucks in a long time! brad
when you get a tach, make sure you get one with a shift lite. i can set my shift point with the touch of a button. can't miss it when the light comes on. you don't even look at the tach.
HAHAHAHA tell me about it.. to be honest.. you might want to think about a mini spool... they only cost like 50 bucks with a new cross pin.. i put it in mine.. with the 4.11 gears.. and i must say, i like the fact that i have 2 drive tires now i didnt spin nearly as much as i used to
Oh if this were my car exclusively I'd have a spool in it now, but this is my 17 year-old's daily driver. So I'm gonna wait 'til I can get some kind of locker. My sixty foot time, if I am reading this time slip right was 2.33 with .207 reaction time. brad
sounds like you had fun, and thats all that is important.. i had fun as well, until the middle of my second run but good news is, it doesnt appear to be more than a malfunctioning cooling line on the tranny.. so i might not miss this season after all i think until i get my springs done, i may just run 1/8 mile.. and concentrate on that for now at least
i think thats what it is.. im still not 100% sold thats it.. i am going to replace all the lines and go from there
