Any watch outs on a new install of a stock timing set on a 302? Are they hard to get in time?

I think somethings wrong with your engine^^^^^^^^^ or its up side down last time i checked my cam was on top and my crank was on the bottom.:rofl2:

As long as you hurry i think you will get them in in time. When do you have to have them. :biglaugh:

Are you talking about the chain and gears. If so just make sure the two dots on the gears point straight at each other. Top down bottom up. And just make sure u put everything back the way it was.

Eddie's got one of those new fangled OHC engines (over head crank) :rofl2: .

Line two dots up so that they are straight up and down together. You'll be fine.

This is of course, assuming you lined the dots up when you took the timing chain off.

Otherwise, locate TDC on #1 cylinder before lining the dots up.

This also is assuming that you are not retarding or advancing the cam.

One other way is to align the crank key with the cam dowel. As long as these are lined up, the timing will be right on. And the cam dowel can be either straight up or down (12 or 6 o'clock)

After you remove the timing chain cover it is a good idea to stuff some shop rags inbetween the oil pan and the block so nothing gets in you`r oil .
