Last night I installed the rebuilt carburetor on the Maverick. I had to recreate the thermal choke control tube (I made it from brake line) which was rusted away on the end. Getting the broken off piece out of the manifold was not easy (had to drill it out) but I finally succeeded. Once everything was back in place, I fired up the car and it ran pretty good! Then I placed the air cleaner back on the carb, and tried hooking up all the hoses. I "think" I have them them all correct, but I'm not positive. The car seems to run good, so I guess that's a good sign. I took it for a short run down the road, it was nice to have it out of the shed!

Does anyone have a diagram of the proper hose connections for a 1976 200 I-6?

    Thanks!

if you have the cleaner in the spot it has been for years the hoses are practically in place... they should fit snug unless the hoses need to be replaced... someone will give you a diagram if you are not sure. My car is at home 1 hr away so I can’t tell you exactly where the hoses go.

Thanks for the help. I utilized that thinking when I re-connected the hoses, however there is still room for error. I couldn't take a photo "before" I removed the air cleaner because a lot of the hoses you can't see (they are under the unit) and by the time you get the air cleaner off, the hoses are disconnected. As I said, I think I have them right, but there are a few hoses that could go in more than one place. I thought my Chilton's book would give me a diagram, but since it covers 1970-77 and all the engines, I found it to be too "generic" to really show where the hoses should go. I'm not sure where to go for a diagram, I have done some Internet searching and have not had any luck yet.

Well I don’t think it’s something to worry about to much. Yeah it would be nice to know that the hoses are in the right place but they are just vacuum hoses. Some suck air and some blow air. So as long as it can "suck and blow" then I think it would be fine... correct me if im wrong guys. I have it in my head where some of the hoses go because I had to rebuild my carb when I bought the car. But it’s been weeks since so I totally forgot. There should be no damage occurring to the engine.

There's also one hose that's not hooked up to anything (it's just pushed onto a bolt on the drivers side of the engine bay) and it was that way when I got the car. I'm wondering where that one goes, since I did not disconnect it from anyplace....

looks like someone tinkered with your toy before it was yours. by the way you talk, the car seems likes it running good even though you dont know if the hoses are in the right spots.
