Sat down and added up the receipts since purchasing the Mav Aug '05 for $1800.00. Total, give or take a few bucks, is $4850. Still needs a paint job.:dancing: :shhh:

My wife told me I have no other vices. She said I don't smoke, gamble, drink or chase the skirts. She said my only vices are a '73, '72 and a '69.5.

She said it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper if I took up smokin', gamblin', drinkin' and maybe pick up a chickie or two.

    What's a guy to do?

I'm with the "I don't WANT to know" crowd.

'Been there. ('Had over $14K of receipts of upgrades and misc on a '90 Mustang street/strip car once)

I do keep the receipts on high dollar items for warranty purposes - I just don't want to know how much the total is. :cringe:

I'd kill myself if I knew how much I spent over the years...on the maverick.

Id' be even more heartbroken if I looked back & realized what I spent on one thing, then took it off because it didn't work as well as intended and bought another one to replace it (e.g. carburetors, rear end gears, intake manifolds, transmissions).

I agree, adding up the cost, will get you thinking, why the heck didn't I just buy a perfect original, or a newly restored one to begin with.... Oh I know, because thats ( for me part of the satisfaction, taking something from not so perfect, slowly working it until its less than not so perfect

Don't want/need to know. Not for sale anyhow so I don't really care.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I'm almost free and clear on every maverick I own with the exception of the 77 I just bought.:bananaman
