Sat down and added up the receipts since purchasing the Mav Aug '05 for $1800.00. Total, give or take a few bucks, is $4850. Still needs a paint job.
id rather not count my money Scooper has the best idea with his website adding up every purchurse Great idea bud
I would rather not know....and I know my wife does not need to know! *edit it doesn't matter though....worth every penny to me!
My wife told me I have no other vices. She said I don't smoke, gamble, drink or chase the skirts. She said my only vices are a '73, '72 and a '69.5. She said it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper if I took up smokin', gamblin', drinkin' and maybe pick up a chickie or two. What's a guy to do?
I'm with the "I don't WANT to know" crowd. 'Been there. ('Had over $14K of receipts of upgrades and misc on a '90 Mustang street/strip car once) I do keep the receipts on high dollar items for warranty purposes - I just don't want to know how much the total is. :cringe:
I'd kill myself if I knew how much I spent over the years...on the maverick. Id' be even more heartbroken if I looked back & realized what I spent on one thing, then took it off because it didn't work as well as intended and bought another one to replace it (e.g. carburetors, rear end gears, intake manifolds, transmissions).
i dont think the receipts of upgrades and maintance would even come close to what ive spent on keping fule in the tank
I'm in the don't want or need to know crowd, I about craped my pants when I added up the engine................I could have easiely had a 347/393 with bitchin aluminum heads.
I agree, adding up the cost, will get you thinking, why the heck didn't I just buy a perfect original, or a newly restored one to begin with.... Oh I know, because thats ( for me part of the satisfaction, taking something from not so perfect, slowly working it until its less than not so perfect
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I'm almost free and clear on every maverick I own with the exception of the 77 I just bought.:bananaman
I am taking the military verison of this, "Don't ask , and Don't Tell " (that last part is VERY important when the wife is around!!!!) rk Ouch , just hurts thinking about it. Whose idea was this anyway ??
