Hey guys. I am looking for opinions. I found a set of wheels on Ebay that are of a style that I like. I have 2 questions. 1st will they fit? Second does this seem like a decent price or do you guys know somewhere that I can get a better price? I am planning on putting these on my Comet.

I seriously doubt they will fit without rubbing on the outside wheel well lip. I have 15x8 with 4 1/2" backspacing and they are close enough.

    i had a 73 maverick a few years ago
( sold it to corbin johnson ! ) i had 15x7's with 3.5 back spacing. 255/60's they would scrape with any body distortion so 15x8.5 wtih the same back space will be a problem. i hope that helps.

    No don't buy

I would not buy these wheels at any price. By modern standards these wheels are unsafe, the mounting system is bad. You would probabily have vibration issues, just one of the reasons whey they stopped making wheels with oval mounting holes.

691/2 Mav; I personally would not have unilug wheels. I broke a set of Cragar SS wheels, on a moderate launch. Also, slow comet is right...they will vibrate loose, and give you a lot of cause for concern. I would pass on them. Just my $.02.

For what it is worth, nobody is bidding on any of this guy's wheels he has on auction. Tell you something....maybe?

i LOVE our slotted wheels! i'll have to agree with not buying unilugs though. i think it is better to wait and find a set of mags that don't have a unilug.

My 77' Maverick had a set of wheels just like those on it when I first got the car. The damn things were absolute junk. The lug holes got oblonged so bad that they caused the car to vibrate like crazy. Then the lug nuts spun off one day and the wheel came off the car. Lucky thing I was slowing down to a stop at the time. We took them off and threw them in the junk pile. Word to the wize: Stay Away!

Went to the Good Guys swap meet today. A friend purchased 4 new Torq-thrust "D"s $400 15x7. I also saw Mag 500 wheels new $50 each several sizes.

Thanks for all the replies. I will pass on them. Guess I will just have to save up for a set of brand new Cragar SS. I like those better anyway. :)

Just to come to the defense of the lowly uni-lug wheel: I have used them and had no problems. You HAVE to use the correct lugnuts with the correct washers. If you don't...you will have problems.

On those wheels...definitly pass on those...way to high in my opinion.

The rear wheels on my race car are uni-lug!
If you seen a picture of my car during the luanch, you would have to agree, they CAN take some punishment!

I have some rims exactly like that actually.... or ones vary simalar

    my email address is camtemple@hotmail.com

I'll even sell them to you cheaper then the max bid on ebay, as i got them for cheap myself...

watch out for the lug patern though..... i have a 70 mav which is the same as yours.......mines 4 lugs, those rims are 5, so if yours has the 5 lug conversion they just might fit

i'll send you pics of them if you want...
