My daughter is nearing the driver's license age and we started looking for her first car. She thought she wanted an old Mustang, but I told her we could not afford one as old as she wanted that was in any kind of shape. Then she saw an old Maverick and later we looked at a Comet. She was in love. Several months later the money and a Maverick came together. It's a '74 with 69,500 original miles. Boy, do we have plans! Does anyone think it would be difficult to install bucket seats from a 2004 Ford Ranger? 20c
yes anything is posssible welcome to the board ,i would think that with a few modifications anything is possible . good luck and have fun ,oh by the way under your name 20cows ,novice ,it reads 47 maverick ,i think you mean 74 ,cheers Jimmy2gates
looks like a good start.....good luck~! and keep us updated on the progress. by the way, your daughter has GREAT TASTE!!!!!
It's got a 250 I-six at the moment, but for her first car, that's ok. I don't want to start her out in something too hot. She drove it for the first time yesterday on a dirt road. The manual steering scared her to death, but she'll get over it. I told her that when she went away to college, her mother would probably want her to have "something more dependable". The Mav will stay here. I've got my eye on another 302 that is in need of an upgrade and a home.
and not scared cuz of the maunal brakes? lol! i see your daughter is an excuse to work on a project that really wants to be your project... lol! "you got your eye on a 302" i gotta remember this one... lol! anyways welcome and good luck on your project!
Actually, those brakes kinda' scare me! My '76 F100 (Baby) has manual disc front brakes and the Mav may have them before long. You have, of course, nailed it right on the head!

Sounds like quality father daughter bonding time! My daughter asked me to paint my mav pink and let her drive it to school!
Welcome! Glad to see you have a good start. "My" Maverick is supposed to go to my daughter too. I just cant let it go...
