My 75 comet gt just passed safety. but drive out of your garage and the front end screams uncontrollable.

front end just had ball joint, steering rack, and a wheel alignment done.

was quiet for about a few days and then you drive and the tires scream.

any suggestions on what perhaps was missed in the inspection.

i'd have it checked out before driving it too much. could be a safety item.

Sounds like something in the alignment was not adjusted properly,or not tightened and has become out of adjustment. you shuold not drive the car until someone checks out the front end.

    Thanks

Thanks everybody for your suggestions, the car goes in the shop on wed for re-check on front end. does anyone think the front end scream could be from the camber being off.

also, any ideas on what i should be looking for, for front end springs, as this car sits really high in the front.

    thx,
    custom

a lot of us just cut 1 "coil" off of the spring itself. (y)
you might want to do this before you take it to the front end shop.

I know this sounds stupid but, disc brakes? Did you check for rocks stuck in them or wheel bearings. Just my two. Good Luck!

The info you gave wasn't much on details... what exactly kind of scream are you talking about?? When you say uncontrolably I here the sound of a very loud loose belt squealing reallly loud to the point that it makes you cringe???

I know it's prolly not a belt but that was just an example. Does it sound like tires squeeling like when you lock the brakes? Does it sound like metal to metal squeeling like when your brake pads are getting low? Does it sound like the metal to metal like a bearing locked up like a worn out electric Drill??

My fist guesses would be wheel bearings or brakes are locked up or like someone else said if it has disc brakes then maybe soemthing stuck between the pad and the rotor

If the squealing goes away when you turn the wheels, or only comes when you steer straight.......it is more than likely the tires, Your front end is out of alignment !
