I'm kind of dreading the answer to this question. I found several Mavericks at the local boneyard (has somewhere in the ballpark of 12,000 cars according to one of the employees) and I found one with a floor shifter. Am I correct in that I will have get under the snake-infested rat's nest to get the linkage loose, or is it possible to extract the shifter from the top side only?
I thought so. I wouldn't want to cut a hole in a boneyard carcus, you never know what someone else might need someday.
check and see if it has the trans. if not go through the shifter hole...if it has the "hump" get it for me... ...:Handshake ...
"the hump" I suppose you mean a c4 tranny? There are lots of those out there, many still hooked to an I6.
Alright, I just saw a reference to "the hump" on another thread dealing with a floor shifter. All my previous experience is with column shifters and I haven't done anything with a tranny except hiring somebody ( a transmision shop) to replace the toasted c4 in my F100 with a c6. What is "the hump?"
