heya gang. I finally got around to posting some pics of my Mad Max Interceptor exhaust pipes. They are fabricated out of a sbc, do it yourself header kit and some 3" pipe. This was the prototype- I am making the final set for the car out of stainless.

the pipes will terminate in 8 stainless 35 degree up sweeps, only about 4" long, just enough to clear the plane of the car bottom. I just want them to peek out and up, etc. I'm not running mufflers, just collectors directly into these 3" pipes- all the way back. Maybe an X pipe, haven't decided yet. Honestly, I wanted these to terminate and stick out directly after the FRONT tires, like a dragster- but I needed the pipe to be longer to get a good reading on my A/F sender and exhaust temp etc, for the fuel injection. Bummer. Oh well!

So, like I said- the final set will be entirely stainless- In the meantime, I will ceramic-coat these and run these for the summer.

If anyone is interested, I could be persuaded to weld up another set... you could also do it yourself, if you can weld and fabricate a bit- not particularly hard, just time consuming. (y)

    Thanks man!

    :tiphat:

My wife hates them- they are, in her words:

    A) Soooo 70's

    b) outrageously LOUD

    c) rude because when someone pulls along side at a light, they are deafened and choked by race gas fumes.

All of which make me POSITIVE I LOVE them. (y)

on my cutlass i was thinking about getting a cheap set of headers, cutting the flange off and making them into "zoomies" out the side, but those are sick.

that was a cool car, tell your wife "dont hate!"
its a maverick, your already "soooo 70's", nothing you can do now.
