I'm interested in restoring / modifying a Maverick. Seems like an undernoticed hobby

A few years ago I started to restore a jeep but the wife (now ex) asked me to get rid of it. Long story short, I'd like to do this again and so I have a few questions.
    1. How hard is it to get a not too rusty Maverick? (Time in months, approximate cost). I'd be interested in modifying it, not in a straight restoration (but nothing over the top).
    2. Can you give me some ranges as to how much I'd be looking at spending in $$$ and time. Let's say a. small restoration, b. middling and c. really nice.

    Thanks

gmichaelj; Welcome to the boards! I have a 69.5, and I have about 7 grand in the car, starting from a beat up but not too rusty car. There is a pretty large Maverick following here around Atlanta and in the southeast. Oh, I have had my car for about 7yrs, and spend what I can when I can. You will love the results.

thanks. that sounds like my dollar territory. Are there any shows in the area? I saw a Dixie Maverick site, but I didn't dive into it.

Welcome to the forum. Mavericks are overly plentiful, but are obtainable. We have a great bunch of Maverick guys in Georgia. The Dixie Maverick site is used primarily by the Georgia crowd for local stuff.

I quit counting on mine at the 20 grand mark,, of course,, owning a car over 30 years, which includes the new purchase price adds up easy. But, I would imagine I have somewhere around 30 grand in mine total. What a ride it has been!

You can make a really nice car for less than $10K providing you can do most of the work your self.
