pull the door panel and see if the ...plastic pin...has slipped or broken.

The window is only held in place by 2 plastic parts. As Frank says, one is probably broke. They are not reproduced but real easy to come by as they are the same in all Mavericks and Comets.

I have a couple if you need one. I would just have to find them in my "junk drawer" in my tool box.

plastic pin? sounds like something that could easily be reproduced with pieces already found in one's junk drawer, not necessarly mav/comet specific.

They are very specific. Besides, its not just the pin that breaks, the plastic holder it pushes into, breaks too.

The pin is not just round, I think it has a bulge at one end and slowly gets larger toward the other...

I did look at the plastic push pin and it is broken. I spent most opf the day at a junk yard looking for a mav that was there the last time it was there but it is now crushed. I looked at all different type of cars to find something close but they are now riveted in place.
