Adjusting a rich carb

I have a problem with my car running rich that it wants to flood itseslf out. I am using that stock 1 barrel carter car but i dont know how to adjust the richness or where the adjustment screw is located .

 

Float

If it's running that rich it is likely the float level adjustment. Float may be waterlogged and holding the needle and seat open.

It will have an idle curcuit screw that adjusts the richness at idle, but it will have jets or passages inside the carb that regulates the main curcuit richness.

 

buy a 1 bbl rebuild kit. the directions will tell you how to fix it
