The instrument cluster in my 76 Comet had a "Low Econ" light. It doesn't have a light bulb in it currently. I am sure that it is totally useless ut I was wondering if anyone has one that works and what it takes to make it work or if it was just one of those things that the factory put in just in case they wanted to use it. It looks like it would give off a nice soft yellow glow in the car at night while I was driving. That would make it easier to see the heater controls while driving.
Mine is a 75 and it has the same light ...it is connected to a vacume switch... somewhere and it lights up when you step on the gas to hard.
Yeah I had one too. Wired it into a boost switch from a Chrysler minivan, light came on @ 2 psi LOL. Kinda funny to try to watch it.
Stands for "low economy". One of Detroit's better ideas for promoting better fuel ecomony when their cars had anything but. I use the term "better idea" sarcastically.
low...howbout no had a ford 1/2 ton w/360 in it:bananaman had light like that in dash:confused: if you pressed gas at anything past 1/4 pedal it would "LIGHT YOU UP" just a junker, but I thought it was funny because that was one of the few gauges/lights that worked ........Robert
HA! low economy....hehe think they would of just put an electric fuel pump in the car and hooked it straight to the hot wire on the pump lol
