    First of all, Welcome aboard.
Yes, that is the SAME exact car as mine, except mine is automatic on the floor. It is definitely code Z and is in fact 71 color only so you don't see many of them at all. The 70 Z code color is what Shawn Simpson and Earl Branham have on their cars.
That picture really hit home. I always wanted to put a set of Cragars on mine way back when but mostly had aluminum slots, then Keystome Classics, then finally the Centerlines and as you can see by my blue car, the Centerlines have kinda stuck with me. As a matter of fact, the Centerlines in the photo of my green car above wound up on the red Grabber (R.I.P.) I built for my oldest son and are still on it.
I intend on starting a full blown restoration on my Grabber Green car in the very near future.

Those color charts are cool. Found it strange though that after 1970, they don't list Black as an exterior color option.

    Maverick Grabber Color

My Grabber was the same color as the bottom picture. This brings back a lot of memories.

That's the same color as mine also. The color just looks a little darker in the above photo.

    Grabber Photo

The car was not lifted when that photo was taken. The rear tires were taller than the front tires which did make the back a little higher than the front. When I had large wrinkle wall slicks on the back, I used air shocks to get the tire clearance that I needed.

    Maverick Purchase

I ordered and picked up the Maverick at Lopshire Ford in Benson Arizona in April 1971. I had purchased the Crager SS rims prior to the delivery date and had the dealer install them on the car before it ever left their lot. I had also purchased a set of Hooker headers, Edelbrock F4B manifold and a Holley 650 double pumper carb before the car arrived. I put the headers on the car about three days after I took delivery of it and had it on the drag strip the next week.

I am in Willcox, which is about 85 miles southeast of Tucson on I-10. I had no idea that people have been restoring these cars and enjoying them as much as I did when I had mine. I like the smooth lines that the car has and how nice they look. The Maverick was a simple basic car that could look very good with just a nice set of wheels and tires. My wife always liked the way it drove even when it was a race car. I always felt safe with it at the drag strip and it never got out of hand even with 100 plus mph trap speeds.
