As we all know the mavericks have an offset gas tank making dual exhaust a little more difficult. In addition, I have the high pressure EFI fuel lines on the driver side as well. I'm thinking about running one of these mufflers down the PS with dual outlets on the same side. I noticed the new GTOs are set up the same way. I don't know how good it would look but it would make it a bit more safe. Has anyone tried one of these?

My exhaust is run on each side and dumps between the leaf springs and the body on each side......No worries about the gas tank with this setup. But it's YOUR car......and YOU are gonna be driving it, not us. :D So if you think you'd like the dual outlets on one side, then go for it! Good Luck!

Any of you have a pic of the underneath of your Maverick showing a dual exhaust? One we can see the muffler location & in/out configuration, and maybe the tail pipes?
I want to instal duals on my 70, as soon as it gets the 351W.

I figured the 40 series flow master would sound good. just not sure about the other cross flow. I don't want something that sounds "ratty" when you get on it. I want a nice deep rumble at idle.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P

my has a set up like that... he couldn't run true duels so he ran a flowmaster just like that duel in duel out... at the time they didn't have that x dealo but he ran their truck muffer... that will work too. it think it would work... just gotta figure out how to get two duels over the axel or under it to make it look clean.

btw the GTO only the 04 is set that way. though it does run two muffers.. as seen in this photo...

the 05 and 06s have duels out each end. ;)

love to see it if you do it.

Ya know, I have had several (3) Z28s. Yea I said it! ;)
And those things only have 3" single exhaust. (they have 2 exhaust tips for looks)
Anyway, they are seriously fast cars and sound good with single exhaust.
I am thinking I might just do a single exhaust on my Mav to keep things simple. It is also lighter that way.

On my last Z I just used a single 3" Dynomax race bullet. PN 24222.
The muffler is dirt cheap and flows like open pipe!
    Sounded friggin awesome too.
Bone stock except for that muffler in place of the factory POS, the car pulled 328/338 at the wheels. Always got props on the sound too.
Very deep at idle. More of a ground shaker than loud. However at WOT it was very Nascar-ish.
A single mandrel bent 3" pipe peeking out the right quarter might not be a bad thing.

Ratio, I like the way you are thinking (cheap, effective). I would like to hear those things in person...:thumbs2:

Craig, was I supposed to be looking at the exhaust? Very clean car. Ratio, I considered the 3" single as well. I had a 95 TA and it sounded pretty decent. I will likely go either with the dual or sinlge down the passenger side. I just like the idea of no exhaust near fuel pumps and lines!! I'm thinking about going with body color steel wheels and police centers so the single outlet exhaust may enhance the "ooops, I shouldn't have judged that book by it's cover" concept.
