Doesn't bother me, I'd love to hear we have more left in it.

My question tho, what did these 300hp 7 second cars weigh? This is a full interior four door 68 Fairlane, around 3300lbs with driver.

At the track no one believed he was running a 289. Damn near got in a fight because someone else swore it had to be a 351 and got pissed when we didn't tell him so.

Have you weighed that Fairlane? I suspect it's more like 3600 lbs without driver.

Is the rearend gear 3.00 or 3.80?

He did weigh it. I'll see if I can get up with him tonight.

Actually, no. I owned a '67 Fairlane 2-door sedan and it weighed less than a '69 Camaro. That Fairlane wasn't very much bigger than a '67 Mustang.

It is possible to get 450 HP out of a 289. Ford did it with their Trans-am Teams. Oh, I also did it. A PIA to drive to drive on the street and it would be worse today - no 100 octane Gas at the Amoco anymore (circa 1977). It powered my Fairlane to low 12's in street attire. Lost all my evidence when my house burned in 1997.

It is still a unibody car and was still considered a mid-size car. The GVW of a four-door, 1968 Fairlane with a 289 engine is around 3,765 lbs. That would make the actual weight of the car around 3,350 lbs. This is a guesstimate; don't hold me to it. It is possible that I could be wrong.
