ive been using the vin decoder, but some of this is confusing me ESPECIALLY the year. was told its a 71 maverick grabber ORIGINALLY 6-cyl, but it looks to me its a 72-74 maverick grabber originally 8-cyl....im confused as hello.....can anybody help me out heres the vin 3K93F109631 and there are no stickers or anything left on the car for me to look at for reference so the vin is all I got....if anybody can give me as much info as possible i'd greatly appreciate it.

    thanks,
    jon

alright cool....now heres the strange part....he pull a slant 6 out of the car and installed the current 302 in it.....any suggestions on figuring that one out? dunno why someone would go through the trouble of taking out a 8cyl installing a 6 and then back to a 8

definatly not a bad looking car though. looks like it probably was a '73 that got back dated the the bumper swap on the front and graber spoiler rear. i dont think a 71-72 had the FORD across the hood or the turn signals in the grill. check again for the sticker in the dr side door jam. they look like there a PITA to get off. more than likley it got painted over.

    good luck

I think what you have there is two things:

    1. A car built with a collage of parts off of different year Mavericks.

    2. Probably a VIN swap from a another car.

Could be, one way to check is pull the fenders off, and see if the serial number is still visable on the inner fender lip.

If the vin is correct, the grabber rear spoiler is suppose to be there.

thanks for the replies....i'll definitly get one of those martireports....have to get the premium, no way i can afford the elite right now.....is there any other way to verify without taking the fender off? i'm gonna recheck the inner doors and everything again this afternoon to see if they werent just painted over, maybe i can find something

oh i didnt know '73 had the grabber spoiler.

when you open the DR's door the tag will be to your right on the body of the car below the striker for the door.

if your car still had the original seats in it you can sometimes get lucky and find a build sheet tucked up in the springs. mine happened to fall out when i pulled my original bench and the replacment even had its build sheet in it too. i returned it back to the racer i bought it from. i figured he would want it.
