So my son drove the car fri nite and the best either of us could muster was a 7.90 @92 mph and a 1.87 60 ft time. Partial throttle launch is all that will work. MTs with 14lbs and any full throttle launch and she goes up in smoke. Slapper bars are all we have. Short of Cal Tracs, what can we do to get some more bite? Shocks maybe? any suggestions?

i used the M/T et streets at 13pounds. i can only leave at about 2200 as the car is so light it will start to spin also. i think other than minitubbing and getting more tire under it you'll have to leave at a lower rpm. i'm assuming you are using a c-4. i now run the M/t et street drag radials at 19pounds. next week in kentucky, and virginia the week after, i plan on playing with a set of M/T et drags.

If they're MT Street,(not radials), drop the pressure one or two more pounds and get a gallon of VHT. Dress the tread very good, let it soak in. Stay out of the grass and rocks if possible. Line up in the tracks of the car that went before you.
Get some Cal-trax or make some.
Sounds like you could be able to get in the lower 7s with a little tweaking.
    Good luck.

Yea I have the same issue. I can blow the tires off if I launch on full stall. I just run a 23560r15 drag radial. My best 1/8 was 7.99@88mph with a 1.8ish 60 ft. I just launch at 2500 and hope it hooks.

Ive been running air shocks for years, I dont use them to hold the car up just to help get it up on the suspension, I think this is where my differnce is.

I have/had a large hole where airshocks DID tear out the top mount. It can and does happen.

Try some of the Rancho's that Calvert racing suggests. They are adjustable.
