I created two new sub forums, one for non Maverick/Comet automotive discussions and another for the 1960 - 1969 Comet. Every now and then we get threads about the 1960- 1969 Comets and since they are mostly from new members, I cant move them to the off topic section as they dont have access to it.
Aren't there already pre-1971 Mercury Comet forums out there? 'Seems like a waste of space. Those cars could be discussed right along with the other cars in the non Maverick/Comet automotive discussions forum. Why encourage people to come to a Maverick/71-'77 Comet site to discuss what isn't even the same car?...
Once again Stefan, you have showed why this board is growing by leaps and bounds (even though that might not always be a good thing ) you are always thinking of ways to make this a user friendly and a friendly user board....now there are those that are trying to make it more and more difficult to come here (atleast for me) and even harder to want to post anything about anything.....I for one always have and always will appreciate your efforts. Thank you for doing what you do.
There are, but people still register here. I created the 1960-1969 forum in hopes that people would see it and post there directly instead of the regular forums.
Thats good now a forum for my 66 comet cyclone, (since it is all by it self and is not considered part of the Fairlanes group).
Other than the "waste of space", I agree. I might have to do more sifting pretty soon if we get bombed with newbies in that catagory. I do like the car and new people are intresting to see. Good thing we have Stefan to manage all these forums, I would screw it all up.
Im not trying to diversify the forum, I just want a place to put pre-1971 Comet posts. I am not expecting a big influx of users posting there, but if there is, I will have some re-thinking to do.
I think it is a great idea. I'd imagine many of our current users will use it also, as I know there are plenty of us here with old cars other then just Mavericks and Comets. While Mavericks are my car of choice, I know I certainly like discussing other old cars every now and then.
