Wow. That picture literally scares me just a little. My parents drove away from their wedding in the '69 VW Beetle my dad had at the time. He sold the car a couple of years later when the engine seized. The trailer the new owner was towing it home on, became detatched from the truck that was pulling it, and the car and trailer went off the side of a mountain. The car was basically smashed flat.
I am so thankful that I was too old and in a professional business to even consider a mullet. Thank God, I never had one.
I bet you were a rat-tail guy!!! Business by day. Party by night. You tucked it into your shirt didn't you!
That's cool. Your picture is the reverse of ours -- you just finished serving your time, we were just getting started. (And it will be 15 years in March for us )
Nope. I was a teen of the '70's. My hair was down to my shoulders. I never wore it at as pony tail, rat-tail, or any tail. We wore our hair long and straight and kept moving it out of our eyes. I cut it for my senior year of high shcool (1976) and my hair has never been lower than my middle ears since then. I'm wearing it dang near buzz cut now - less maintenance. When my wife and I got married in 1982, my car was a 1980 Cutlass Supreme. By our first anniversary, I was driving a 1982 Buick Park Avenue. I didn't get a Maverick until I was 45 years old in November of 2003.
Oddly enough since the subject was brought up it got me thinking and while I was not driving my Maverick at the time I got married I did have the blue one in my signature line at the time (it was parked at my Mom and Dad's house). Now the odd thing is I was driving that Blue Maverick the night I met my wife, Her friend was passed out in her Van in the parking lot by the end of the night and when I pulled up to tell them good by, the friend raised up off the floor of the van and shouted who's loud ass car is that? Tell them to turn it off, I am going to puke.... LOL That was the Maverick that had the exhaust that was all 2 -1/2 open pipe all the way to the back and into a 3 inch inlet Super Trap Motorcycle muffle with the adjustable back pressure rings.. The more spacer rings you put in the muffler the louder it got and I had all but 2 of them in. I loved the sound of that exhaust.
When we got married, my cars were a 70 Mustang Mach-1, a 67 RS/SS 350 Camaro and a 70 Challenger R/T...... but we honeymooned in a motorhome (had to go cross-country to Cali to pick up a load of furniture to bring back to our new home) Unfortunately, I sold the cars.....fortunately, I kept my wife (or vice-versa....she hasn't traded me in for a newer model,......yet!)

Been a few years but what the heck. 9/6/1980 wedding day for me and the Mrs. Dude getting in the drivers door is my little brother. That is me and the wife in the white,, pure innocence. That is my nephew with his hand raised wanting to go along for the gettaway ride. Same car, same wife,, I am worn out.
