Hello everyone :bananaman, I finally had a day off today and so on I went straight to the junkyard and as usual started stripping out pieces and I found this awesome Mustang cluster (Part # E4ZX-10C956-A) but unfortunately there is not much info online regarding the wiring harness as I would love to make a fiberglass insert or casing for the tachometer and maybe speedometer swap if possible, I also pulled out a Ford Bronco's tachometer (Part # E67F-10894) which is not as nice as the mustang 's one (4, 6 & 8 cyl. built in switch) but the thing is that in the end the tach's got 3 connections B, G and C, but I don't know which one goes to the coil, which to the ignition switch and which to ground, has anyone managed to install anything like this ? or has any clue about what G, G and S stand for ?
From what I've seen 70 model mustang gauges will be a "bolt in" application for our cars, or with little modification. I know that the inner filler panel between the clear part and the gauges is the exact same part for a 70 stang.
Not a 70's cluster Unfortunately this is an 80's cluster and I managed to disassemble the whole thing so I can take apart the tachometer, but it's got those 3 connections B, G and C that I don't know where to connect them to, and I don't feel like blowing it as it would be a shame just by randomly trying it, right ?
LOWRIDER My thinking is B is for battery , G is for ground S is for signal ( coil ) but if in dought go to your local ford dealer and check the wiring diag. hope this helps JAY
cole639, I was just wondering what you meant by " From what I've seen 70 model mustang gauges will be a "bolt in" application for our cars, or with little modification". I've wanted to swap a '71 or thereabouts Mustang in-dash tach into my Maverick cluster for a long time, but have hesitated to put up the money for the very expensive Mustang parts because I wasn't sure the tach would fit. Do you have any definitive info on this? Thanks. John B
