I saw pics of a, I believe it was a shelby maverick from mexico, and the rear spoiler was alot taller that the standard grabber.. kinda looked more like a trans-am spoiler... does anyone know how to change or locate one of those spoilers, looks alot better than the standard grabber one..

    thanks
    chaz.

I doubt you can find one, but if you want to locate one you got to search in every mexican junkyard cause I've never seen one on the street. Or you can make your own, using a 69-70 mustang sportsroof decklid and end caps, or a 69-70 shelby spoiler, the last one is taller than the sportsroof one, and way taller than a grabber. Maybe someone with great experience in bodywork could make a set.

I think they're too fat for a maverick, but as I said above, someone with skills could do something great.

I think the 67-68 shelby spoiler would be a closer match to the spoiler in the pictures of the shelby mav, it comes more to a point than the 69 shelby's. I would like a more ponounced spoiler as well like the 67-68 shelby but unless maverick man starts making ones out of carbon fiber :yahoo: then i will keep my grabber spoiler. Here is some pictures of a 67-68 shelby spoiler though it is on a 65-66 stang

I think you're right! The shelby mav had a sharper spoiler, something similar to the spoiler you mentioned. Maybe some mexican engineers decided to put that 67-68 spoiler on Mavericks. This might be an alternative to the grabber spoiler, if the shelby spoiler bolts on like if it was made for the mav.

On shelby stangs the spoiler and deck lid are fiberglass and are molded together as one peice. grabber spoilers are bolted to the original metal deck lid. Maybe the shelby deck lid is close enough to the deminsions that you could make it work on a mav but i doubt you could ever get it to line up perfect without doing a lot of work.
